THE REASON HIIT TRAINING WORKS

HIIT stands for High Intensity Interval Training. These Bootcamp classes are designed to be High Intensity Interval Training...what does this mean? You are doing intense bursts of activity with short periods of rest or active rest (less intense) and you are repeating this cycle for the duration of your workout. Backed by science this kind of training is the most effective for burning fat, building muscle, and increasing your metabolism. Not only do you get all these benefits while your doing your workout, you will get the benefit for up to 48 hours after your finished with you're workout. It's called EPOC, (excess post oxygen consumption or after burn) this is an increased oxygen intake following a strenuous workout. Your body is restoring your body's oxygen stores, working with protein to restore muscle tissue damage, restore body's temperature, and restoring muscle glycogen from lactate. Exercises that consume more oxygen burn more calories.
